PHOTOS: High School Students Across San José Walkout for a #CleanDreamAct

Editor's Note:

San José youth joined a national day of protest to demand that Congress pass a permanent solution to protect immigrant youth. They condemned ICE activity across the Bay Area and called to save TPS.

Hosted by Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network (SIREN), San José joined a national day of action to call for a Clean Dream Act as Trump's deadline to Congress expired. Students from nearly a dozen high schools throughout San José walked out of school to demand that Congress pass a permanent solution to protect immigrant youth. The DREAM Act would grant certain immigrants a path to citizenship and the youth have been the most vocal in calling for legislation that isn't tied to further militarization of the border.
