Hosted by Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network (SIREN), San José joined a national day of action to call for a Clean Dream Act as Trump's deadline to Congress expired. Students from nearly a dozen high schools throughout San José walked out of school to demand that Congress pass a permanent solution to protect immigrant youth. The DREAM Act would grant certain immigrants a path to citizenship and the youth have been the most vocal in calling for legislation that isn't tied to further militarization of the border.
